As a jewelry designer, I keep up with what is in and out in the world of fashion accessories – somewhat. While I don’t let it dictate what I make, I am curious about what the trends are and the state of the industry. As such I receive several magazines on the topic. Most of the time I can thumb thru them in a short while and read an article or two and I’m done. Not much makes me take note.
But something caught my attention in the June issue of InStore. I often like the less glitzy pieces of jewelry and swing to the more simple lines and somewhat casual styles.
This piece by Heather Moore Jewelry looked like a good ‘tear out the page and tack
to the wall’ kind of inspiration for me. When I read the caption though I had to do a double take…..WHAT WAS THAT PRICE?!??!
I couldn’t believe it!!!
I’m still reeling and wondering – (other than using a LOT of gold and diamonds) what am I doing wrong?
Or maybe I should be asking, “what am I doing right?” that gets my jewelry into the hands of all those special women who love fine jewelry, but wouldn’t spend their whole year’s income on one piece?
What do you think?
